You founded Waterkant Tours! How did you come up with the idea?
Some years ago I met some guys in Lisbon, Portugal for surfing. Their main business was an alternative sightseeing company: some nice locals presented the city with some awesome jeeps in a real individual way. I was completely inspired by that and with the help of my friends from wehatetourismtours we started touring in Hamburg in our original VW-Vans. The Waterkant Tours were born!
Why should we take part in one of your city tours?
Because it’s a real alternative view and way to travel around the city in small groups with nice locals and cold drinks from our bar in the trunk!
Is there any part of the city that really impresses your guests?
Yes, that is for sure the neighbourhood of Wilhelmsburg: it is in the south of Hamburg and on the other side of the Elbe. Most of the people from Hamburg just know their neighborhood on the other side of the Elbe, so it’s a completely new environment for them and we know some nice places where to go: enjoying the incredible view at the top of an WWII old bunker is just one example!
